01Who we are
This website is run by Datum Global Limited, registered office 8 New Road, Lancaster, United Kingdom, LA1 1EZ, registered in England and Wales under company number 17407316 (“DATUM”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described on this page, which means we decide why and how it is used and are responsible for it.

02What we collect, and why
When you write to us through the form
We receive what you type: your email address, your name, and, if you choose to give them, your company and a description of what you operate. We use it for one thing, which is to answer you and to carry on the conversation if you want one. You will also get a short automatic email confirming that your message arrived.
Our legal basis is that you asked us to get in touch, which is a step taken at your request before any contract, and our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us. You do not have to give us anything, but without an email address we cannot reply.
Please do not put sensitive personal information in the free text field. We do not need it and do not want it.
When you simply visit
Like every website, the servers that deliver this one briefly record technical details of each request: your IP address, the time, the page asked for, and the type of browser and device. This is used to keep the site running and secure, and to investigate misuse. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a working, safe website. We do not use these records to identify you or to follow what you do.
What we do not do
- We set no cookies.
- We run no analytics, no advertising and no tracking pixels.
- We do not buy data about you or combine what you send us with data from elsewhere.
- We make no automated decisions about you.
03Who handles it for us
We use a small number of companies to run the site. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- Vercel Inc. hosts the website and runs the small program that receives the form. It sees the technical request details above, and the contents of the form for the moment it takes to pass them on.
- Resend delivers the two emails the form produces: your message to us, and the confirmation to you.
- Our email provider name it, e.g. Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 holds the message once it has reached our inbox.
Fonts and scripts. The typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts and one small script by jsDelivr. To load them, your browser connects to those services directly, so they receive your IP address and basic browser details. They set no cookies through this site. Delete this paragraph if the fonts and the script are moved onto our own server, which is the recommended position in the EU
Outside Europe. Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where it is, the transfer is covered by confirm per provider: certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses in the provider’s data processing agreement.
We do not otherwise share your data, except where the law requires it.
04How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry for as long as the conversation is live, and for up to 24 months — confirm the period after we last heard from each other, and then delete it. If you become a customer, what you sent us becomes part of that relationship and is kept under the terms agreed with you.
Technical request records are kept by our hosting provider for a short period, typically no more than 30 days — confirm against the hosting plan.
You can ask us to delete what you sent at any time, and we will.
05Your rights
Under data protection law, including the GDPR where it applies to you, you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it;
- stop or limit using it, or object to our using it;
- hand it to you, or to someone you name, in a usable format.
Write to the address in section 01. There is no charge, and we will answer within one month. We may need to check that the request really comes from you.
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first, so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: the one where you live or work, or ours, which is name and website of the supervisory authority in the country where the company is established.
06Keeping it safe
Everything you send travels over an encrypted connection. The form is handled on the server, never in your browser, so the credentials used to send mail are not exposed to anyone visiting the site. Only the people at DATUM who answer enquiries can read them.
No system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong that puts your data at risk, we will tell you and the authority where the law requires it.
07The small print
Children. This is a business website. It is not meant for, and we do not knowingly collect data from, anyone under 16.
Other sites. If we link to another website, its own privacy notice applies there, not this one.
Changes. If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant and we have your address, we will tell you directly.
